International Symposium on Energy Technology and Strategy

Southern Illinois University Carbondale was a lead supporting organization for the International Symposium on Energy Technology and Strategy at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan in November, 2011.  SIU's Dr. Tomasz Wiltowski, professor and interim director of the Coal Research Center, gave opening remarks at the event and presented a talk entitled "Energy Research - Technological and Scientific Barriers and Opportunities."

The ISETS 2011 is pioneered by NCKU-RCETS, Argonne National Laboratory, and Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC). This symposium aims to promote exchange of recent and advanced information among scientists and engineers in the wide field of Green Energy with focus on fundamental research, technology, application, as well as policy and strategy.
This symposium is also particularly aimed at promoting communication and collaborations amongst fundamental researchers and those engaged in the development of practical technology in respective areas of Green Energy.
